Opera House
On the 24th of July, the Belmore South School choir performed at the Opera House. We changed into our shirts at school. My one was up to my knees! We walked down to the train station at 10 ‘o’clock and we reached Circular Quay at approximately ten forty five. We walked to the Opera House and we ate our lunch. We then went inside the Opera House for rehearsal. Our conductors were Rachel Kelly and Ian Jefferson. We rehearsed until half past four. We went to the Botanical Gardens and played there for a while. We then walked to the restaurant; there we met Mrs Pericles, Miss Finos, Mrs Hankins, Mrs Knight and Mrs Leonard. We then stayed there until about half past six. We walked back to the Opera House and were ready to perform. The performance went from seven to nine thirty. The choir sang eleven songs The Return, Homeward Bound, Alleluia Cannon, Aiken Drum, Bare Necessities, Adiamus, Mrs Browns Lullaby, Will the Sun Ever Shine Again, Patch of Heaven, Practically Perfect, Streets of London/Feed the Birds. There were other performances too. They were very good. We then took the bus back to school and my parents took me home.
It was tiring but fun. ![]()
